About Program

The Bachelor of Homoeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) is a comprehensive five-and-a-half-year undergraduate medical program designed to cultivate skilled homoeopathic practitioners. Regulated by the National Commission for Homoeopathy (NCH), the course is structured under a Competency-Based Dynamic Curriculum (CBDC) that integrates traditional homoeopathic principles with modern medical sciences Educational Framework

The program duration includes four and a half years of academic study divided into professional phases, followed by a one-year compulsory rotatory internship. The curriculum is built on a “spiral progression” model, where subjects are revisited at higher levels of complexity as students advance through their training. Core academic components include:

Homoeopathic Subjects: Advanced study of Homoeopathic Materia Medica, Organon of Medicine, and Repertory, which form the therapeutic foundation of the practice.

Medical Sciences: Integrated training in Anatomy, Physiology, Pathology, Microbiology, Forensic Medicine, Surgery, and Gynecology to ensure a holistic understanding of patient health.

Supplementary Learning: Inclusion of modern modules such as Research Methodology, Biostatistics, and Yoga, alongside an initial Foundation Programme to orient students to the medical profession. Clinical Training

Clinical exposure begins early in the course, transitioning from basic observation to active participation during the final year and internship. Students are trained to diagnose diseases using modern diagnostic tools while applying homoeopathic methodology for treatment. This rigorous training ensures that graduates are capable of delivering primary healthcare, managing chronic and acute conditions, and contributing to the national healthcare system with a specialized focus on homoeopathic therapeutics.
